Following a 30-year sales and business career, Andrew was part of a consortium that bought a golf course business in Essex, in 2003, and he spent the next 10 years as the venue’s on-site manager.
In 2011, he joined the board of the UK’s industry trade body for commercially owned golf facilities (the UK Golf Course Owners Association) and, two years later, he took on the role as the association’s chief executive on an interim consultancy basis, passing the management of his golf facility to family members.
In 2016, he left his role with the UKGCOA to join a new venture, Melior Golf Ltd, which provides advice and assistance to golf land owners looking to optimise land value, while reconfiguring their golf facilities to match local demand. Such advice and assistance includes, but is not limited to, downsizing the golf facility to a more family inclusive, entertainment focused facility, funded by acquiring planning consent for housing on any resulting unutilised land.
Melior Golf is working closely with the UK’s largest holiday park operator and leisure lodge provider to identify potential partnerships with golf land owners wishing to find additional revenue streams
Andrew’s wide contact base in both the golf and property development industries and his experience as a golf course owner and operator places him and Melior Golf in a unique position to provide land optimisation guidance for golf land owners.
Melior Golf Ltd is also a franchisee for the Golf Management Group, which provides expenses management services to more than 600 golf clubs across the UK. Golf Management Group harnesses the collective purchasing power of its member clubs to leverage significant discounts due to economies of scale without compromising on quality or service.
